Nerdarchy takes a look at the new Unearthed Arcana article modifying Classes.
The PDF comes in at a whopping 9 pages and packed with useful free information.
Wizards of the Coast really is doing an excellent job of handling the Dungeons and Dragons brand with 5th edition.
You get the design notes on how to handle customizing your own archetypes as well as building a new class.
This article gives two great examples. One modifying rangers into a non spellcasting variant
as well re-building the Favored Soul Character class from 3.5 D&D.

(5E D&D) How to Create Your Own Archetypes

    Veröffentlicht am 12.12.2016
One of the significant elements in tabletop gaming is the ability to create your own content.
Very often we do it with stories, characters and worlds, as those are more familiar to us, the parameters more certain.
Less often do we seek to create content based around system mechanics:
custom classes, races, new feats and abilities, changes to existing rules.
Such a process is much more tricky.

However, it can yield some truly fantastic rewards.
In this video I go step by step on how you can create your own Archetypes for 5th Edition D&D,
providing a completed example of a new archetype for the Bard class: the College of Intrigue!
