    Time for another video about tabletop rpg games with Scott Garibay. T
    his time we'll be giving out a player tip about using your characters hit points as a resource in your game.
    Scott as some interesting ideas when it comes to gaming especially when it comes to dungeons and dragons.
    During the battles, combat, and adventures Scott believes leaving nothing on the gaming table.
    How do you dungeon masters and players feel about your HO in the game?

    Damage Makes No Sense

    Describing the damage done by attacks can be a very exciting part of the gaming experience.
    The arrow catches the ghoul between the eyes, the giant slams its club down turning the goblin into mush,
    the fireball erupts, disintegrating the skeletons. This vivid way of describing damage adds a lot to the immersion and experience.

    However, in a system like D&D, damage actually has no impact on the performance of the character until it passes the 0 threshold and one falls unconscious.
    This can lead to trouble with the description of attacks actually having no mechanically value.
    Additionally, how does one describe an attack that should, by all rights, blow someone's head off, but it does 30 damage out of the foe's 200 hit points?
    I'd welcome your thoughts on how you balance the cinematic with the mechanic.

      Long standing tradition among gamers both players and Dungeon Masters is the critical failure and critical hit or success.
      A time honored tradition in many a game I've played in was for the Dungeon master or Game master
      to give a player the chance to do something no matter how crazy it was if they rolled well enough.
      The other tradition was to have something extra happen on the of a 20 upon the d20 or the roll of a 1 on a d20.
      It's the randomness of the dice that is some of the allure to playing RPGs like Pathfinder and Dungeons and Dragons.

        Potions, Scrolls, & Other Consumable Magic Items in 5th Edition Dungeons and Dragons D&D Discussions

        The 5E D&D Players Handbook and Dungeon Masters Guide are full consumable magic items
        for players to use and game masters to drop into their games.
        If you are short on your cleric or wizard for the gaming session these can be life savers.
        Or perhaps they will just give the adventuring party the boost they need for a really tough encounter.
