Overview and Races- Sword Coast Adventurer's Guide to the Forgotten Review Realms

    Veröffentlicht am 11.11.2015

Time to jump into Faerun with the new release from wizards of the coast- Sword Coast Adventurer's Guide.
We break our review down into three parts. First we look at the Forgotten Realms fluff and races.
We give some suggestions as to how DMs might use this material in their D&D campaigns and adventures.
This 1st section offers very little in the way of 5th edition dungeons and dragons mechanics.
All of which falls under the race section of this campaign setting book.

Sword Coast Adventurer's Guide - Worth Your Money?

    Veröffentlicht am 10.11.2015
The Sword Coast Adventurer's Guide is the most recent Dungeons & Dragons book to come out.
Most of its few pages are devoted to information about the Forgotten Realms region of the Sword Coast.
The last few chapters have some options for each class, some backgrounds,
but by and large I found this book not worth the cost. What about you?

Character Classes- Sword Coast Adventurer's Guide to the Forgotten Realms Review

    Veröffentlicht am 12.11.2015

Here is where the real treasure trove of 5th edition dungeons and dragons crunch lies.
We get a ton of new archetypes for most of the character classes barbarian, cleric, fighter, monk, paladin,
rogue, sorcerer, warlock, and wizard all get new archetypes.
All the classes get Forgotten Realms lore interjected into them.
The bard offers information about musical instruments while the druid mentions Moon Wells and Dark Wells.
There are two race specific class archetypes introduced- the bladesinger and the battlerager

Spells and Character Backgrounds- Sword Coast Adventurer's Guide to the Forgotten Realms Review

      Veröffentlicht am 13.11.2015

Time for our final review of the Sword Coast Adventurer's Guide.
Now we'll look at the spells in the book as well as the character backgrounds.
As for spells there is only 4 cantrips for sorcerers, warlocks, and wizards.
There a bunch of backgrounds that could be imported into any game.
They also make for good examples as how to customize your own backgrounds to a homebrew campaign world.
These are mostly Faerun flavored. There is also an appendix that talks about using the material from this campaign setting
in other ones like Dagonlance, Greyhawk, and Eberron.

and not one but two members of the Darkmagic family. Yes, those Darkmagics.
